Erin Royster, DVM, MS

Dr. Royster received her DVM from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She completed a Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014, with an emphasis in milk quality and udder health. Dr. Royster is currently an Assistant Professor in Dairy Production Medicine at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. As the faculty advisor for the University of Minnesota Laboratory for Udder Health, Dr. Royster is involved in research, teaching and outreach related to mastitis control and diagnostics, particularly on-farm diagnostics. Other areas of interest include milking equipment evaluation and milking parlor performance, promoting responsible use of antibiotics, quality assurance programs and “best practice” adoption on dairies. In her teaching capacity, Dr. Royster is interested in adult professional education and online learning, as well as active or problem-based learning.
