With limited options and a lot of unfamiliar pathogens, it can be difficult to make recommendations on mastitis treatment. Despite this, there are some guideposts we can use to develop a rational approach to treatment. In this second session, we will review some recent research on mastitis treatment and delve into the practicalities of applying mastitis treatment best practices on client dairies, with a focus on antibiotic stewardship. We’ll also tackle some of the common problems and misconceptions that get in the way of implementing successful mastitis treatment protocols on dairies.
