Josephine Lawrence is a second-year veterinary resident in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Josephine was born in California and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where her passion for veterinary medicine was evident from a young age. She attended Iowa State University where she obtained both her Bachelors in Animal Sciences and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During her time at Iowa State, Josephine developed a love for rodent and swine medicine which prompted her to specialize in laboratory animal medicine. Josephine is interested in research concerning analgesia and euthanasia of rodents and aquatics and is currently working with zebrafish models of nephroblastoma.
