Bridging the Gap in Race and Homeownership

Time and again we have heard that homeownership is the number one wealth generator in this country. And yet there is a huge race divide in homeownership. According to the Census, 72% of White Americans own a home versus 43% Black, 51% Hispanic and 61% Asian. Matt will address the reasons for this divide and identify steps local associations and their REALTOR® members can do to bridge the gap in assisting Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) to achieve homeownership. He’ll also provide tangible solutions to increase those homeownership rates, and identify policy solutions for local associations to meet this challenge.
