Implementation of GFI #263 in ways that work for Practitioners and Sheep and Goat Producers

  Small Ruminant

Small ruminant producers often use veterinary practitioners much less when compared to cattle producers. The FDA's GFI # 263 will require a veterinary prescription for the remaining medically important, over-the-counter injectable and topical antimicrobials. A proposed template will be presented that practitioners can use to assist producers in joint development of treatment protocols for common conditions. Other sequelae and anticipated behavioral responses will be discussed.
