Mike is a Civil Engineer with a passion for anything aviation. Mike started his love of aviation when he was 10 years old with a discovery flight in the cub scouts. He holds a masters degree from the University of Kansas in civil engineering, part of which was a required 3 hour course in a new program called Aeronautical Engineering 101, it was the Cessna Ground School program. After passing the final exam it was off to begin his engineering career which soon turned into starting his own firm. His first hire, a CFI..the sky was the limit from there on. Mike was on the design team to lengthen the runway at one of the local airports and worked at the Beechcraft plant on many projects which gave him the opportunity to fly the Beechcraft line. Mike joined the Civil Air Patrol and became a captain. After re-locating to Orlando in 1988 he continued with the CAP and his flying career. Today Mike is the Southeast Regional Director for the Beech Aero Club and this years the Chairman of the Type Club Tent. His passion for flying continues today just as it did many years ago.
