AIA/SCS 2024 Annual Meeting

The 2024 Joint Annual Meeting of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) and the Society for Classical Studies (SCS) will take place January 4-7 at the Hilton Chicago in Chicago, IL.  The meeting will feature academic sessions, an exhibit hall, and additional meetings, receptions, and events in a mixed format, with many sessions held in-person, some as hybrids, and a few fully virtual ones.

AIA: The AIA is North America’s oldest and largest organization devoted to the world of archaeology. Today, it has 200,000+ members and over 100 local Societies in North America and Europe. Its publications, the American Journal of Archaeology and ARCHAEOLOGY magazine, are read worldwide. Its members include students, enthusiasts, and professional archaeologists at top-tier research universities in the U.S. and abroad, conducting fieldwork in dozens of countries. SCS: The SCS is the leading learned society in North America for the study of ancient Greek, Roman, and Mediterranean languages, literature, and civilizations. The Society’s publications and programs, and interests of its members, are increasingly broad, encompassing cross-cultural comparison and the reception of antiquity. While the majority of members are university Classics faculty, students, and teachers, all with an interest in the ancient Mediterranean world can join the SCS.
