Developing and Supporting Rural Veterinary Practitioners Pathways to Practice

Recruiting and retaining veterinarians in rural veterinary practices continues to be a challenge. Dr. Goldsmith will discuss challenges and opportunities from the perspective of the Ruminant Medicine Group at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine related to existing and developing opportunities for food animal and Rural Practice interested veterinary students. Opportunities exist for practitioners and practices to establish pipelines to hire and better retain veterinarians that will also greatly benefit student training and preparedness.
