Sedation and Analgesia in Birds

Procedural sedation has become the standard of care in avian medicine, reducing the stress response in avian patients during manual restraint. Therefore, in this session, we will discuss indications, commonly used protocols, and potential adverse effects of sedation in birds. In addition, the pain management of avian patients will be addressed, and the most appropriate protocols will be provided for different groups of birds.
